Overview

Most companies
are connected to the Internet, and email is
a common communication method. However,
email has also been the most common way for
spreading malware (computer viruses, worms,
trojans, etc.).
The need for scanning for this malicious
code on the email server is therefore
crucial. Norman Virus Control (NVC) for
Exchange is a virus scanner that integrates
with Microsoft Exchange 2000 and 2003 to
ensure that everything that passes through
the Exchange server is checked for computer
viruses, trojans, and other malicious code.
NVC for Exchange uses VSAPI 2.0* plug-in,
which connects to the Exchange Information
Store on the server for access to emails and
attachments. NVC for Exchange becomes an
integrated part of Exchange itself.
* The NVC for Exchange 2000 will work in
Exchange 2003 because Exchange 2003’s VSAPI
2.5 is backwards compatible with VSAPI 2.0
used in Exchange 2000.
