The leading Norwegian financial magazine Kapital has awarded Norma Ad-Aware the best product within IT- security 2005. The product protects users data from unwanted intruders.

Unwanted intruders that are trying to monitor your Internet habits, steel sensitive information or send advertising emails, are becoming one of the most serious threats within IT-security. Norman Ad-Aware protects you against these threats. Kapital gives the following statement as to why they awarded Norman Ad Aware product of the year: Norman has managed to combine a third part solution with its own technology and has created a protection against intruders. The product monitors your computer and removes spyware. It is created in cooperation with the Swedish company Lavasoft.

- It is important that we manage to protect our customers from these kinds of threats. In addition to viruses, spyware and adware are some of the fastest growing threats against data security, says VP Market and Business Development Audun Lødemel at Norman ASA.

Spyware and Adware are programs that install themselves in your machine completely without your knowledge. In addition to steeling information and pushing advertisements, these programs can also put heavy load on your computer capacity. Recent statistics has shown that as much as 90 % of all computers might be infected from spyware and/or adware.

Norman Ad-Aware is available in two versions: The Plus version for home users and the Professional version for larger networks.
