In the August edition of
the British Virus Bulletin magazine Norman ASA has been
awarded the Virus Bulletin (VB) 100% award for its
antivirus solution Norman FireBreak for Novell Netware.
This is the 24th VB100% award Norman has received so
far.
“During a year when we have had, and most likely will
continue having an extremely high activity level of
viruses and worms, we are pleased to get this positive
recognition on our technology and organisation, as the
award clearly proves. Our strategy is to secure our
customers using a variety of operating system. This
award shows that we are able to keep our high quality on
virus detections on all the different platforms our
solutions are designed for", announces Steinar Wigtil,
Director of R&D at Norman ASA.
“The latest weeks Internet worms and viruses as Bagle,
Zafi and MyDoom among others have aggressively attacked
Internet users. The Norman Sandbox in particular, has
proven to be a very good investment for our customers,
as the Sandbox detects and stops these viruses before
they do any harm. The Norman SandBox is able to stop new
viruses and worms before the virus signature files are
updated. For our customers this proactive method is
crucial to their businesses. The recent track records in
detecting new unknown malware by the Norman Sandbox and
this VB100% award once again proves Norman as one of the
top antivirus players in the world", says Audun Lødemel
Marketing director Norman ASA.
The criterion for VB 100% award is to discover all
viruses that are identified on the international virus
list “In The Wild", which is hosted by http://www.wildlist.org.
Virus experts and analysts from all around the world
keep this list updated on a monthly basis with viruses
and worms, which are constantly active.
